If there is a dead heat, the winners will share the prize. No more than four prizes will be awarded in each category.
A diploma will be given to each choir for participating.
MINISTRY OF CULTURE PRIZE
This prize, worth €1,600, will be awarded to the choir which has given the best performance of a post-1920 French choral work during the competition. This prize also applies to the international competition.
PRIZE FOR A NEW WORK
This prize, worth €1,600, will be awarded for the best new choral work during the Florilège, and will be split between the composer (€800) and the choir singing the work (€800). This new work, either unpublished or recently published, should have been composed and, as appropriate, premiered during the year preceding the competition. It should have been worked on in collaboration with the composer. The Jury will give preference to those works using advanced composing techniques. During the competition, the work should last between 2’30 and 4’30. Only one new work may be sung. This prize also applies to the international competition.
PRIZE À CŒUR JOIE INTERNATIONAL
This special prize, worth €500, is offered by À Coeur Joie International – an international choral body. It is awarded to a non-French choir for the quality of its musical performance and of its pronunciation of a work written in French (any composer). This prize also applies to the international competition.
CONDUCTOR'S PRIZE
This prize, worth €1,000, will be offered and presented by The Friends of Arthur Oldham. The Jury will award this prize to a conductor for the quality of his or her conducting during the competition. This prize also applies to the international competition.
PUBLIC PRIZE – CHILDREN'S OR YOUTH'S CHOIRS
This prize, worth €500, will be awarded by public vote at the end of all the choir performances on Sunday morning.
